Approach
How we work together
Rather than applying a single framework, I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches and adapt them to what feels most meaningful for you.
My work is integrative, drawing from CBT, DBT, Transactional Analysis, Narrative Therapy and mindfulness-based approaches.
My approach
There isn't a single approach that works for everyone, so I tailor therapy to your individual needs, experiences and goals.
Together, we'll explore what's been happening, understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools that help you move forward.
- CBT
- Exploring the relationship between thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and developing practical ways of responding differently.
- DBT
- Developing skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness and navigating relationships more effectively.
- Transactional Analysis
- Understanding patterns in how we relate to ourselves and others, and exploring how these patterns may have developed.
- Narrative Therapy
- Looking at the stories and beliefs we hold about ourselves, and creating space for alternative ways of understanding our experiences.
- Mindfulness-based approaches
- Developing greater awareness of thoughts, emotions and experiences without automatically getting caught up in them.
How therapy works
Therapy isn't a fixed formula. The process evolves as we understand more about what you need.
Your First Session
A chance to get to know one another. We'll explore what has brought you to therapy, understand your background, and begin identifying what you would like to work towards.
It's also your chance to ask questions and see whether working together feels right. There is no expectation to have everything figured out.
Session Frequency
Most people begin weekly. Consistency builds momentum and strengthens the work between us.
As you grow more confident applying what you've learnt, sessions can space further apart. We'll decide the pace together.
Ongoing Therapy
Our work builds on those first conversations. Some sessions focus on long-standing patterns, others on practical coping strategies, processing emotions, or reflecting on what has come up since we last met.
There is no fixed agenda. We'll review your goals regularly and adapt as your needs change.
You don't have to know exactly where to begin.
Sometimes knowing that something needs to change is enough of a starting point. We can work out the rest together.
